Moving yacht by Truck

Sometimes the bridge can be removed and then replaced at destination.

When done this way, folks sometimes hire the same guy to remove (and mark all the electrical connections and so forth) and then come to the destination to put it all back together. Sometimes "the guy" even has depth of experience with that particular boat brand and their models.

How about rail ?

Haven't heard of rail deliveries, but doesn't sound out of the question. Probably still need a truck involved at each end.

There's also delivery by ship, of course. Commonly, East Coast (Ft. Lauderdale, West Palm, Rhode Island, Bal'mer maybe) to either Ensenada or Vancouver.

Generally the legal width for truck transport is 8.5'. More than that you're dealing with a "Wide Load". Max height is 14'. Max length is 53'.
For rail shipment maximum height of 15 feet 10 inches above tracks. D. Lading must not exceed maximum width of 10 feet 6 inches.
Sometimes only a ship will do for moving things.

You are likely better to use a transport ship. There is a ship that makes a route from East Coast through Panama Canal up the west coast to Victoria. I know they load/off load in Florida and I thought somewhere along east coast of Canada before they travel down to Florida. They Load in Ensenada then up to Victoria. This is how I got got bought from San Diego. I hired a CAPT to deliver it to the ship in Ensenada then I met it in Victoria and ultimately ran it up to Alaska from Puget Sound. I don’t know what cost is from East Coast but when I went Ensenada to Victoria I think it was a little under $25k but that was almost ten years ago now and I’m a 54’ almost 60’ LOA

Did you mean to write 'by truck'?

Many of the popular Sabre models are a sort of "down east" style, no flying bridge so heights aren't huge...

A friend is moving his 56’ Sunseeker by road from Dallas to Houston.
A 3 day transit with the removal of fly bridge, antennas etc. $25k

Okay, I'll bite, what's a 56 Sunseeker doing in Dallas?

I suspect that's going to be very interesting since that's a 4 hour drive.

Yeah, 4 hour drive using a pick-up truck pulling a Boston Whaler, not so easy moving a 56’ Sunseeker, lots of preparation and work.

Oh yeah. You're talking oversized load in length, width , probably weight, taking a lot off the top and probably only traveling at night at about 10mph. Just arranging the permits has to be crazy. Then there's insurance. At least it's nothing new for him as he must have gone through it getting it there in the first place.

My buddy bought that boat in Dallas 1.5 years ago.

I bought a 40 Ocean Yachts from Lake MI and had it trucked to Seattle. Flybridge removal and careful labeling if wires. 2 weeks to put back together once it arrived. 14'2" wide.

Current boat I took one look at how they attached flybridge to house and knew shipping was the only way. I much prefer shipping if possible.

There are companies that specialize in that. You tell them what and from where to where they send you back a route with times and requirements/restrictions..... and the bill.
