New to me 96 - 32 open, while I have plenty of things to work on it seemed like low hanging fruit would be finding a post for the table in the berth. That has not been the case. Does anyone know how this originally worked? the post appears to have gone through the raised floor and sat in a ring on the actual floor. Problem is, all that I can find are in the 29" range, I need something 34" or so. Any input would be much appreciated.

Right you are, what I'm seeing are a maximum height of 30". Sure you need 34"? If so all you're dealing with is an aluminum or steal pipe. Maybe shop for that rather than a marine table pedestal.

Btw you got me curious. So I just measured the dining room table in my home. The underside of the table is 29" from the floor.

I agree! Problem is that the pipe extends through the “step up”, so I need a longer pipe to get the 29” standard height

I’ll snap a few pics tomorrow, but the pipe pretty much goes through the false floor and into a receiving block on the true floor.

The answer may be to simply delete the “pass through” ring and install a base like the link you sent

That (or something similar) is what you're missing. I just pulled up a good pic of the table on Yachtworld https://www.**************/boats/1998/luhrs-32-open-3752062/. The ring is to keep the base from widening the hole in the wood floor. This drops into the ring. You can bolt it down or leave it removable so you have access to the void.
I think now you might need a pedestal less than 29".:) (actually it looks like 29")

Ahh, maybe I need to re-think what I thought “should” be there. Pics to come...

Go to that link. About the 10th pic in is a great shot of the table. Nice table with wood trim and the base is also done with wood trim, but that's it. You were right. Low hanging fruit. :)

Btw, if you look in that hole and see a cup facing you that may be the bottom of the table top. See if that floor lifts out. It may be stored under there along with the pedestals ( a long one for the table and a short one for the bed),
