Will do. Update to the update... the vertical combo separator will not work in our boat as the physics won't allow it. Turns out too.much of the unit will actually be below the waterline.

I have decided to use the separator add on (Centek PN 1020200) and locate it just above the engine room, in a service race large enough for the unit. It will be bolted to a custom made bracket that I will fabricate. The exhaust/water will be forced into the unit, outside the engine room, separated and sent back down where the gasses and water will be discharged; the latter, under water.

I spoke to an engineer at Centek. We decided that this will work well.

Shout out to Josh and Jeannie at Centek Industries. They are great people to deal with and a fantastic company that really puts their customers first.

You’re absolutely right. The people at Centek are top notch. They treat the little guy, looking for a solution, the same as the mega yacht builder looking for $100k in custom muffler work. Great people and very helpful.

    Unit installed!!

I just finished installing the Centek GenSep water separator. Because of the space constraints couple with the physics in play, I manged to mount the unit in the fuel valve locker on the stbd side of the cockpit.
I cut an opening in the floor of the locker to accommodate the hoses. The exhaust/water mixture travels from manifold into the original Vernalift muffler. It then makes its way up to the GenSep in 2" hose. Comes out the bottom again... water in 1.5", gasses in 2". The gasses are expelled in the original thruhull, above the water line. The water is discharged just below the water line in a new thruhull fitting after looping once.
No more constant splashing mixed with exhaust noise. Just a low hum.

I highly recommend this unit for those with similar setups. I had to remove the stbd main exhaust which has left me a little stiff, I will admit. Wrestling reinforced hose on your side and back while in a tight space is for younger guys.

Also used the opportunity to re-route some water pipe.

All in all, it was a good call.

    Hi,
i think Centek staff are top notch.
They are to the little guy looking for a solution, just like a megayacht builder looking for $ 100,000 to order a muffler.
    Thank you
