Yes, it is among the most unconventional layouts of the larger superyachts out there.

So I've thought, but HTM09 gave me an excellent explanation why its designed that way, hopefully he'll share his opinion here too. @htm09

As ApreMare put me on the spot, I might as well explain my view of the GAP of Ace here on YF too.

Also the interior style of Ace is not my up of tea either, the GAP it self is not so bad at all. If You look at it from the designation of deck layers and the operational point of view for the life on board it makes more sense. The main deck actually is the owner deck and the official main deck is actually one of the lower decks. As per rule, the emergency generator for example has to be at main deck lever or above, by this, the emergency generator could stay that low and will not occupy valuable spaces on the higher decks. The continuous flow of the external aft stairs makes it very easy to enter the boat at the stern platform and walk right up to the wanted levels. That makes the official main deck the guests, sport and activity deck and the deck above the owner deck. The crew launch and main galley does not disturb the flow of life on board at all, as the owner / guest areas and the crew areas / spaces are clearly seperated from each other by seperate corridors and staircases. The crew can walk from the bottom deck up to the top deck without ever entering the owner and guest areas and owner and guests have their own spectacular internal staircase through all decks.

Sorry for the low resolution but the original file is 90 MB large.

I have visited Ace myself and besides her overblown internal design, the internal arrangements are not so bad at all.

Falcon Tenders has delivered a pair of tenders to the 87-meter "Eye" (ex. "ACE").

Very interesting, Ace is my favorite yacht. Unlike others here I do like some parts of the unique GA and interior.

I’m looking forward to see what’s been done to her during this refit, any news what and when she wil be finished? The look of these new tenders at least is promising…

I mean she looks good but I miss the sweeping arch...that was her single defining feature.

Oh no! Agree Yacht News, became a bit plane… they also extended her superstructure so maybe a change in GA too? All in all huge $$$ refit, must have been sold quite below ask otherwise it’s a very expensive boat right now:)
