I have a 1990 44' that I would like to have my stern hawe pipes replaced for larger ones as I want to be able to get my shorepower through them. Has anyone done that? I ran it by my marina fiberglass guy and he is trying to do some research but just checking to give him info if any of you have done this. Thanks
You'd of course want to do it on both sides to keep it symmetrical. Sounds like a lot of work and expense to cure a minor inconvenience and you could end up with a bigger inconvenience if you cruise a lot (feeding the cord through each time, especially when cold and stiff) . There's probably a lot simpler solutions to your situation, maybe involving Velcro straps.
We did this on a refit a couple years ago when I upgraded a 65 Viking to 100 amp service. It was quite expensive to get custom hawse pipes made at the yard, but worked out very well. If you want I can measure the old ones I still have in storage next week and see if they will work for what your trying to do.
That would be great. Please let me know. In the meantime I will talk to my glass guy to see if he has come up wiht anything yet.

Did you think of installing a Glendenning cord reel ? Put your exit on the transom. I don't know if that boat has space , that's to be investigated. But I suspect when you calculate the Howse cost this won't be that painful and a lot more convenient than lugging a 50amp cord around.
I have a Glendenning already installed that came with the boat but the exit comes out at the base of the lazarett so no changing that. Thanks for the suggestion
Ok thanks. I will check the next time I get out to the boat hopefully this week. Its a standard 50 amp. So do you have a50 amp cord as well then I assume and it fits through?
The hause pipes on my 48 allow the glendening 50 amp to go thru no problem. Can you source 2 of those?
Thanks. I have my fiberglass guy looking in to it. Which of the three models sizes on that link do you have?
