The rear prop would take and accelerate what it received from the front, no problem. The centerline thrust eliminates the sudden yaw and control challenges associated with an engine failure on traditional multi engine planes. The problem with this plane is it is very expensive and there is not a very large market for float planes. And Dornier doesn’t seem to have a good foothold in the aviation market. Never was a big player.

If you’re going WP 172...I just might pay YOU to clean your bilges. What a vessel. I’ll just hunker down in a crew bunk and steal WiFi to stay employed in between bilges.

PLUS this is a yacht forum, people need to stop screwing around with kids toys and buy a AG600 Kunlong float plane instead where they could fly 2 cars with them!

Perfect. It will be a while as we discover our taste for longer cruises or not. If we end up using you, we could list you as ballast, or maybe a stowaway.

40 meter is 131ft or did you mean 40ft?
So are you talking about a gulet for which I have knowledge or a Morgan 41 O/I?

I think I will join @JustAzimut stowed away, motor or sailing, I do housekeeping, brightwork, grilling, dishwashing, I don't drink alcohol, so I can be a designated driver for the tender on those beach or iceberg expeditions... Let's do this.

And you get to escape that formerly wonderful City, Portland Oregon! We will end up with a crew of volunteers, entertained by our twin 7 year old daughters. Party time on the Salt!

LOL, I moved to Mt. Hood long ago, no worries. My boats seem to be secure as Portlandia becomes, well, what ever it is becoming.

    Volunteers, mutineers, what's the difference:)

I like where this is going!!

I bring way more to the table than just sparkling bilges and comedic relief! Not only will I make sure gr8trn's alcohol rations don't go unused, I'm a pretty stellar fx guy, according to my clients!

I'll have to smuggle the Mrs. aboard, she's a K-5 teacher that is shelving her skills until we have littles.

You may want to watch the entire season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht and actually chartering one before taking the plunge......when you see everything flying across the salon and also all of the food in the galley ending up on the floor on the show, you may want to re-think that one! :D

One of these gulets will fit the bill:
    https://au.**************/boats/2009/custom-superyacht-gulet-2971970/
It has three crew and one captains cabin with interior passageways to not interfere with pax. Most gulets in the 20-30m range have more cabins as they were set up for Dalmatian charters. Most require a min of five crew to operate them. They are mostly wood, built in Maramis. The few steel hulls are extremely expensive and harder to find. There's nothing better for cold water sailing.
They are the ultimate in luxury. Like the one below:

Well, if I really should find myself in those conditions in a 40m sailboat, I might well re-think the idea of crossing oceans by boat, but I surely wouldn't think that I'd rather be on a motor boat instead... :)

Beautiful looking wood. Couldn't imagine trying to maintain it in an environment like Florida.

There was one operating in the Bahamas last year and two on the Pacific side of Panama this year. They are strong and well built. I've seen them bounce off containers with just superficial damage. Nothing that would sink them. On a delivery, we got into a bergie field and felt quite safe.

I can see why you are a fan of the Gulet.
