I had an owner do just that. They bought a new 2019 55' Princess fly, we did 3 12-14 day trips on it in the Abacos and Exumas and they just realized that it was too small for their family. They have 4 college age or older kids, 3 grandkids, etc. Took delivery of the Princess August 2018, sold it Feb 2019 with a 2019 66' Sunseeker on order that they took delivery of in August 2019......very happy with the increased size, 4th stateroom and 6 beds (sleeps 8) inside and additional crew mattress so they can also have 2 crew.

Yes, I'd interpret the fact they bought a larger Sirena to be a positive reflection on the company but simply mean the first boat was too small for them.

The Mrs and I spent some time on a 2019 58 Coupe that was one of our captain friends, demo boats. It intrigued us initially because of the price point being offered for a ‘new’ boat but unfortunately for the selling dealer, it fell far short for what we needed/wanted and granted, take anything I type with a grain of salt as I am not a captain and this is all personal conjecture:

    1. Small feeling: In coupe form, everything just felt claustrophobic on the main deck. Thank goodness it has a ton of glass that opens up, fully closed it felt like we were in a 40’ cruiser. The technology was great but of course it was...it’s a brand new boat. The galley was also cramped. It is fully open to the salon, but even then it still is very limited for prep/serving. I feel it was the size of a well equipped flybridge bar area .

    2. Fit & finishes: We felt it was an IKEA decorated and build boat. Everything seemed mid quality that would fall apart within a few months of real usage. The master cabin with the bow access and the ‘loft’ feeling was pretty slick, but again, the finishes just seemed...ok.

    3. It is WET. We probably did 75-100NM on Lake Michigan with it and even though we weren’t crossing the stream or dealing with inlets, it’s not uncommon to deal with 3-5’ chop near coastal. It handled the chop well but it seemed like EVERYTHING broke over the bow.

In the end, the technology was great, the sea keeper worked well and it was easy to pilot. If it was only me on the boat and I wanted to entertain friends for day trips and sip cocktails dockside, it would have been a winner. The way we use our boat(s) and what we need/want in our next one, we ultimately needed to go bigger for the two of us and week long guests as all of our families are states away.

I've got Sirena boats on the radar and came across this thread so thought I'd weigh in with a few observations. The 58 coupe is something of a niche market as it takes away one of the huge selling points of a normal Sirena 58, it's massive flybridge, covered if you opt for the hard top.

That brings lounging and dining oppotunitiy as well as a vast area astern to do with as you will. Toys, furniture, a tennis court.... ok maybe not tennis but for a 50 something footer at the money a big flybridge.

I think it's a bit unfair to dismiss a boat using the words it's too small for us. If you're going to spend more money on a bigger boat then you're not the target audience. For me the 58 is being compared against similarly priced Princess motor yachts. When you do that it offers a lot of space.

As for the 88, another very interesting boat for the money. I hear the comment on crew accommodation, I also did the maths and came up with my own solution:

The later Sirena 88 boats featured an improved crew area over the launch boat but I used an even more interesting solution. With the main owner's suite main deck forward (oh and I also ditched the little swimming pool in favour of seating), I was left with 2 lovely suites down below for guests as well as a pair of ensuite twins for crew. You could bung a couple of kids in there if you were sailing short handed but all of a sudden you have the pick of the crew because you're treating them like human beings. 7 crew berths and 3 crew bathrooms. In reality you'd have a captain, a deck hand, a chef and one or two house crew so possibly 5, 6 if you throw in a Spa therapist. Either way all taken care of.

Dining wise the galley is what it is, not unexpected when compared to the market. Sirena offers a high level of customisation if you wanted to have a change around.

As for the proximity of the flybridge helm and the enclosed helm - perfect. You might want to take to the flybridge for docking or else to the enclosed helm should the weather turn. I would lose the raised bed in favour of seating but suspect that is easily done.

    I'm a little confused Henry...

You state that Sirena is on your radar but later state that you ditched the swimming pool in favor of seating. Do you own a Sirena or are you here to clarify comments in our discussions?

Whilst mentally optioning the boat to decide if I thought it would work. Financially the decision is more likely to be based around the smaller cousins but a man can dream and the 88 was a very interesting boat when I looked round it at Cannes with some nice touches. The little drinks station and laundry room starboard side forward of the sub master cabin on the lower deck was cool.

I was onboard Hull #1 Sirena 88 in Italy last week (Dusseldorf Boat Show). Now I am a champion of design and innovation, however, sometimes this leads to over reaching. With the 5 cabins, the crew stated that the boat is completely unsuitable for 10 guests (I mean the dining table only has seating for 8!). The two spas are completely over the top, the Flybridge is an afterthought and the Captain finds if tough to keep the water in the foredeck. There were 4 of us in the Saloon and it felt full.
The Captain also stated that the fins are far too small for the boat and therefore, have no positive effect.
The interior is also of very very low quality, for a boat which is priced as high as it is.
I don’t mind the looks, just build by designers and as such, has been severely compromised.

Following on from my last post on here I did a bit more research on the people behind Sirena Marine and it seems the parent company is Kiraca Holding.

They are a pretty large set up founded over 50 years ago. They are heavily involved in automotive manufacturing specialising in mid sized commercial passenger busses.

As well as producing their own ranges they manufacture for Fiat and Hyundai amongst others. I haven’t visited their production facilities in Turkey but suspect they have a lot of crossover between marine and automotive.

Everyone always tries to compare the two industries but in reality they have, until now been very different beasts with the marine industry languishing decades behind automotive despite the odd isolated innovation. I wonder if Sirena can finally bridge the two and offer a unique take particularly with regards quality versus cost?

We are starting to think about a change and Sirena are definitely on our radar.

On a side note I viewed the brand new Sunseeker 55 this week and it offered some interesting answers to questions less than ideally answered by the Manhattan 52. It’s still trying a bit too hard externally for my taste but each to their own.
