    Got a turbo with 250 hours on the rebuild...the turbo is fine but the flange that attaches to the mixer rusted off? Ideas where to get a housing so i can send it in for repair? Garrett phm 34383

    Depending on the damage a good welding shop might be able to fix it.

    Hi all...not fixable..total rusted off flange on exhaust side...they do not just sell the exhaust flange either...need to buy the whole turbo assembly...MD distributors out of Houston has complete rebuild for $1165 for the 671ti powerplants... just passing on the info I came across...the turbo is T18a...detroit part # r5103838

    I just had to buy a new one from diesel pro not a rebuild it was a Garrett for around 2100 bucks I wouldn’t trust the rebuilds I have not heard great things about the rebuilt units from anyone , except those that rebuild them...Lol!
    Most mechanics shy away from the rebuilt units.

    The problem is getting to be the age of the castings when rebuilding and the number of hot and cold cycles on those castings.

    Thank you for this info Lepke! I just spent an hour looking around on the site. Really good to know. Has lot of parts for my old 471s and Twin Disc 506s' . It was also a great learning tool for me to see the various parts on an individual display with part '' titles'' to grasp what the heck I was looking at! For me it's a bit better than looking at the In-line 71 service manual....
