With all that's going on I'm wondering if boats that normally winter in Florida are going this year or are they changing their destination or just staying up north and winterizing or did you leave your boat south through the summer? Transporters how do your bookings look?

I was talking to a Canadian couple yesterday who had been stuck in Canada since March. They just finally got cleared to fly in and they are taking their boat today and going south like normal while they can. Their boat had gotten stuck in the Bahamas with them in Canada in March so they had to hire a Captain to bring it back to RI.

Earlier this year, my wife and I had been thinking about taking our boat south this year so we could do some time in the Bahamas and other places over the winter but now I think I will push those plans to next year.

I really like Charleston, should be a nice place to spend the fall.

My dad retires next year and i have been thinking about a gradual trip down south next year and in the future. Something like Ocean City or Beaufort in Sept/Oct to fish the end of the tuna season, then down a bit further south (maybe Charleston or somewhere else), then down to palm beach or FLT to be able to run over to the Bahamas and down to the keys for some extended holiday time.

I’ve down the trip up several times but never down and never planning a extended stay but I can imagine there are lots of great places besides the typical haunts.

The one place I passed that I want to go back and keep the boat for a couple months sometime is Georgetown sc. endless miles of creek to explore in the tender.

We decided to cancel our annual trip south this winter and put the boat in storage. This will be our first winter north of Palm Harbor in 8 years.
Southbound snow birds stopping in Annapolis appears typical.

Indoor heated storage in New England for our girl this season. I’ll miss the trip south and my friends in FL, but it’s the right choice for me this year.

If I were fully retired, or didn’t have to quarantine 2 weeks for every visit it might be different.
