I think that every place is running blind and walking a wobbly line between instituting the extreme rules needed to control this virus and all the people who say 'but don't inconvenience me to do it'. Then add in those who say it's a hoax and resist any attempts to reduce the spread and this is what you've got; every local leader doing what he or she wants. Maybe they're trying to save people's lives; maybe they're just trying to save their jobs.

We were in the Exumas the whole Month of July and it was very busy. Back then it was 7 or 10 days testing windows which was ok. 5 days as it is now makes it difficult since it takes 2 days, at least, get results and another day to get the health visa

And now there is conflicting information about quarantine and what you can and cannot do

yes, the July spike was caused by bahamian traveling and returning home with mount testing.

they can not sustain this shut down beyond the fall. If they don’t re open tourism by the start of the season the human disaster will be far greater than 46 deaths to date.

As to staying in Florida, there is no comparison. Even the keys don’t have any natural beaches n or nice sand bars. And it s way too shallow for anything of 60’.

Hopefully the virus agrees with your timetable. What you neglect to consider is the number sick, spending weeks or months with a tube down their throats, how that impacts their society and drains their resources. Today there was a man on the news who had to get a double lung transplant. I wouldn't count on any normalcy until a vaccine is found, proven safe and effective and distributed.

I just read that Bahamas Air has canceled all their Nassau flights. Other airlines are still operating.

Ok so if I get the test and do all the required stuff before entering, once I clear am I stuck at the dock or can I leave Bimini daily to go float and play in the water or am I stuck sitting at the dock? No one can seem to tell me. I only want to go over for 4 days, so I get it, I cannot go into town, I just want to go to Sapona, Honeymoon Harbor etc. But I want to go back to the marina nightly. Anyone here know if that is "legal" under the current regs?

Yes it is legal if you don't go ashore when you leave the dock.......Honeymoon harbor....Sapora.....all good......besides it's Bimini, nobody enforces anything there........

Perfect... Thanks Capt. J Funny how they make it so confusing I think most weekend boaters just gave up. I went to Post Card Inn down in the Keys 2 weeks ago just to get out of town, it was great but it is not the Bahamas

Pascal and ocgrant are correct, the bottom and left coast of FL is not the Bahamas, But it is simpler to get to.

You know that science has not disproven the ability to garner the virus via the internet. Just keep walking the party line.

You need to send an email to this: sheltering@bahamasmaritime.com

They will send you a form to fill out, unfortunately from the first email to receiving the approval back was 4 days!
I sent an email just prior to departure, received a reply two days later asking to fill form out, which I did and submitted, two days later I got the approval from BMA.
I had already cleared in at Chub, and made my way to Albany before the first reply!
The C&I in Chub never asked me for it, seems if you are going to Nassau you might need it, elsewhere I doubt it.
I do believe they are going to do away with it.

Perfect... that was it, I just don't remember where I saw this before. I think it was an email I got from one of the Bahamas Marina's that I am on their mailing list.

I don't see Exuma listed, but I also don't believe it is excluded by this release. My interpretation is that the Bahamas are open minus Grand Bahama and Nassau. But then again that's a Facebook message. Are we to believe the source?

Basically, I can't find this message on any of the Bahama gov sites.
