There is a small 2-3 inch plastic shroud or cover that goes over the diesel vent on the 2000 post. These seems to have them on several other through hull fittings around the boat. Has anyone sourced an exact replacement for one of these lately? Sorry I don't have a photo at the moment.
May keep any rain , spray, wash, or ammonia from entering the vent, then into your tank. Usually, your local canvas shop makes them up from different brands of clear vinyl or plastic.
So i didnt know what they were called but a couple google searches later,,, I am looking for clamshell vent for the fuel tank for a 2000 post 50. Once I had the right terminology I found an old post from Beau where I think he found Post had some. Not sure if they still do or the status of things up there but I guess I need to try them,,,, I just really want the same hole pattern and style.
Sorry, I messed up shroud with clam-shell. There are many curtains or shrouds made that keep water from hardware, vents and hull areas. Those little clam shrouds, abit doing the same job are ridged and made of stainless or plastic. https://www.westmarine.com/search?Ntt=clam+shell+vent+cover
As far as last year,(Had mine replace in Aug of 2019) any that you find online are NOT the exact ones (hole sizes & distance etc) The only way I found my replacements is by contacting Post Directly and they'll ship them to you. I believe they are a little expensive for what they are, but are 100% a match 2002 50' Post
Thanks a ton for the feedback. Being as they are unique it sounds like maybe I should buy a whole set while I can. I emailed post yesterday but I have not heard back as of yet.
