Experience with King Starboard?

    We're replacing our chartplotter and will need to install that on a piece of king starboard to then add into the dash on our 2001 Tournament 340. Does anyone here have experience working with the King Starboard? We're pretty handy, so I am not too worried about that part, but any tips/tricks would be helpful.

    The key question is does anyone with a Luhrs in the early 2000's know which color white of the King Starboard best matches the gel coat? I am struggling with the patience of ordering samples then starting the project.

    Appreciate any insights the group has!

    It is dense and heavy.
    It is really easy to work with and any of your woodworking power tools will work perfectly.
    Takes a router well too
    Out of pure good fortune, their seafoam color is exactly the tone and color of my gelcoat and I
    have made a few pieces parts for her.

    Pretty easy to work if you're familiar with woodworking. Once exception is you can't glue it, at least not easily so plan for mechanical fasteners. Sawdust from it sticks to you like the devil. Sorry I can't help with the color.

    Sea foam is usually close enough to most gelcoats
    I ve used a lot of starboard over the years incl jet ski chocks, small shelves etc. good stuff as long as you don’t have real long unsupported sections

    Indeed you can glue it but screws hold really well

    McMaster-Carr has a range of thicknesses, sheet sizes and colors. No connection, just a customer.
