I’ve been really impressed with some of the new luxury day boats coming out of mostly Europe. Brands like Fjord, Pardo, Alen, Vanquish. Sort of a cross over between center console and the aft deck or sun deck of a large yacht. Easily have as many friends as you want on board. Interiors are impressive for what they are. And most have an open transom for a nice connection to the sea. All seem to have sea keepers to keep the 40-50 platform enjoyable.

Anyone have experience or have enjoyed looking at these new machines?

A Pardo runs by my place on the ICW fairly regularly. Looks nice, but I wonder if the plumb bow with no flair provides a wet ride. I remember reading a review of a Fjord 40 in an English magazine some years ago that commented it was wet.

I think some of the American center console/day boats are worth considering -- the Hinckley 40 Sport, Boston Whaler 380 Realm, Ocean Alexander 45 Divergence and others from Pursuit, Edgewater, Tiara, Intrepid and more.

Out of these, I have been on Pardo 43 and 50 in choppy conditions. To me, they didn't seem too wet. I would also say, that interior is designed for 2 persons in my opinion, as it is very roomy, but with no privacy. 50 has an option for one more "crew" cabin with deck access, if I remember correctly, that could serve as a guest cabin.

I’m sure the Italian boats aren’t going to crush waves like a Boston whaler, but the luxury level is much higher compared to a 380 realm. Interrior is bigger and fairly usable. But different missions.

Pursuit is getting closer but still more fishing oriented.

I see the new 42 from Marquis is making a big design step forward. I don’t like the interior as much but I think a big step forward.

yes I agree these are only great for a couple. And 95% of the time I spend on 30m yacht it’s just me and wife. So I like the idea of a fun luxury boat at a reasonable 500-700k price point.

I can't speak of those, but I ran a Tiara 43' LS around a while. We had 24 adults on it one day and it handled it well and everyone was comfortable without much bumping into each other. Boat also was fast with the 3.425 Yamahas......had it up to 58 mph with 8 guys on it. Would stay on plane at 3000 rpms and 20 mph...….4000 rpms got you 30 mph, 4500 rpms 38 mph...…..boat was a lot of fun, had a diesel gen, seakeeper, a/c in the helm area. etc.

I was on board a 43 Tiara and it was pretty impressive. Seating area was very innovative.

I just bought a Bluegame BG42. It is an Italian brand owned by Sanlorenzo Yachts. It is a modern walkaround sport utility yacht. It is fitted with twin Volvo Penta D6-435 IPS600 diesel engines.
I was very impressed by her layout, volume and beam of 4.37m and the finish is exquisite. Top speed is over 35 knots.

That’s a gorgeous boat! I like simplicity of outboards but that open connection to the sea is simply amazing

Thanks Dan. I am your exact opposite ;) ... I have always been a great fan of inboard diesel engines especially in a well laid out engine room. The engine room on the Bluegame BG42 is extremely comfortable and spacious with great access. Below are a few images of the engine room.

Bluegame 42 looks like an excellent example of the "Luxury day boat" genre.
