It is a no brainer, everyone should follow recommendations to limit exposure as others here said and follow good hygiene plus debugging everything we touch regularly. Hardest thing is not touching your face! Always have a good stock of necessary items needed when the shtf. There will be shortages because most people are not prepared for possible long-term emergencies which are inevitable, especially when so much of our manufacturing has been sourced offshore and supplies will be limited. Hopefully we have learned a lesson? This will definitely be a negative for the marine industry until this corona virus dissipates and a recovery begins. The bright side is better fuel prices!

Port Everglades is a bit of a hot spot with Metro Cruise Services employees.

One interesting thing is Broward County is telling people who suspect they may have it to call a specific number with the health department before going to any medical facility and they'll arrange testing. Makes a lot of sense.

Hopefully, but I'm not holding my breath.
You would have expected that we learned a lesson about ruling and restricting leveraged finance and derivatives after the worldwide financial meltdown, and look where we are now.....

Kind of...like repeating the same thing over and over expecting a different result.

Some good news finally regarding covid-19. A collaboration between Sunnybrooke Hospital, McMaster University and the University of Toronto have isolated and grown copies of the coronavirus. This will help develop better diagnostic testing, treatments, and vaccines, as well as understand it better in terms of its biology and evolution.

It will be a year or longer before animal testing takes place. Another year or so before your FDA approves it for sale and distribution. This is just another "flu" that will awaken every fall and disappear every spring.

You can make up 7k in the future. Money means nothing if you don't have your health.

This post is like looking in the mirror. Glad to see others equally cautious.

Sorry to hear that J. The sad reality of what is happening right now. Hopefully those jobs will come back when this is over.

Just got a mailer from the marketing department at Sea Ray instructing people on their distribution list of how to stay safe while boating in the Corona era. I came close to firing off an email, ripping their marketing department a new hole in the hull. As if they are some authority on this? My guess... one of the millennials in their marketing department thinks they are doing the world a service with these bullet points...

    • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces like railings, handles, armrests, steering wheels and sinks.
    • Use hand sanitizer, or if your boat offers a sink, wash your hands for at least 20 seconds.
    • Cover coughs and sneezes, and avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
    • If you or someone in your family or group isn’t feeling well, stay home.

As I understand, this is not what the US President believes - not anymore, at least.
Maybe he missed your reassuring scientific views on this matter.

I agree about the health part, but won't ever make the money back as this month will already be gone. I don't need the money, but it is nice, but hope it isn't a glimpse at what's to come. 2 days was a move in and out of the Palm Beach show for one of the top U.S. builders who decided to cancel going to the show before the show even cancelled it. They say postponed, but in reality I don't see a show happening this year in Palm Beach because it will be summer time and everyone's gone (up North etc.). Another is a 12 day trip on one of the yachts I manage and they'll do another trip, once this all subsides, but they would've done another trip anyways......

god forbid if a SR sinks due to an overflowing sink from excessive hand washings causing the boat to bubble under, their job is to build/market/sell their boats :(
we as consumers have enough common sense to protect ourselves without the suggestions of non medical SR personnel
