I ran across this old girl at an auction and passed on it. I have this feeling I may have made a mistake. I certainly bonded with her and now she's my "one that got away!" She's very rough but was mostly all there. Her name is Nina apparently from Vero Beach, FL and her Hull number is 2524. Any thoughts about her? I'd like to know more about her and about what she was worth. Maybe you can recommend another forum where I could post at to maybe get more information. I have many more pictures if anybody interested. Thanks in advance!
I cannot help you with that Elco, sorry. I grew up around a few of them and have a soft spot in my heart ( or head ) for them. One in particular that I grew up around is listed on Yacht world right now. I believe the owner's son took it over after his passing. If you want one that is in nice shape, this is a fine example. https://www.**************/boats/1929/elco-50-flat-top-motor-yacht-3569632/ I don't think it ever looked this good in my youth !
Holy Crow !! That’s really nice . From the photos everything was done right and very well ! You would spend five times as much on that other boat from Vero Beach! it’s a steal if you’ve got the bucks . It’s all done for you ready to enjoy !
If you are asking about Liberte, the last time i saw it, it was on the C.Bay and although it was well kept, it did not look as good as itdoes today. And you are right about the Vero Elco, why i posted the add. There are a few in nice shape there.
Yes Liberte ; I see Brick NJ on the transom . Made me think about one in the Bay Head NJ area . I won’t admit my memory is foggy at times and I won’t admit it here on YF! Lol I’m not sure now . Anyway what ya got there is a “Modern Elco” fresh and new mechanically and all original unmolested otherwise. Really cool!
Elco owner here. With the hull number, the Mystic Sea Port library can help with build information, etc.
