Does anyone know how the galley ceiling panels are removed. I'm thinking Velco, but don't want to damage anything. I want to install a new microwave and at least one panel has to be dropped to access the mounting screws.

Are you sure you need to remove a ceiling panel? I just removed my microwave and the release screws were behind the plastic panel on the front of the microwave. This allowed the MW to tilt downward and then be lifted off of the backing plate. The electrical plug went up into the cabinet and there was a small piece of the front of the cabinet that was made to be removed with 1 screw to allow access to the electric plug in. I have a 1998 52 Rivanna CPMY.

Thanks!! Just now saw this. Our microwave is a GE Advantium and it is held in by screws on top. I think a panel has to be removed to access the screws. Anyway, I have found that the ceiling panels ARE held up with industrial Velcro that is stapled in place. We'll see how it goes when I I get the new Advantium to the boat. We are cruising in the Bahamas so the project will have to wait a few months!
