    Howdy Folks,
I recently bought an 87 Jeff 52 - and I can't seem to figure out where to hook up city water to the boat!
There's another Jefferson in my marina, and they said "just hook it up to that faucet on the bow" - the anchor washdown I guess. Well, that is either not hooked to anything, or there's an in-line shut off somewhere. It didn't get me water on the boat. So I'm running off the 12 volt water pump on board for now.

    Thanks,
    Bob

I'm aware that at least the late model Jeffersons (post 2003) were built without city water hookups. Perhaps this was always the case.

It might be that you have a check valve is series with you bow wash down valve preventing the back flow you'd like.

It is not unusual that bow washdown outlets just pump raw water from beneath the vessel.

It is best not to have the boat hooked up to city water. City water has sunken many boats by having a hose burst and flooding the vessel. That being said, check in the anchor locker and in the stateroom behind the washdown spicket to see if there is a shut off valve for it.

This is what they actually refer to in the Jefferson owner's manual I saw as their reasoning for not factory installing city water hookups on their boats. They additionally made the point that regular use of a fresh water tank will help to minimize the issues associated with letting water sit unused. If you have your owner's manual available it may indeed contain the same language in the fresh water system section. This also serves as a good reminder that an additional freshwater pump is a good spare to carry if you don't already, particularly if you don't have a city water option.

Well, I DID get an Owner's Manual!
And I've created a .PDF of it.
    But it's over 40 MB.

You could store it on the cloud in Dropbox, Onedrive, Google Drive, or others. Then, you could allow download access to certain members cleared by PM. I would hesitate to post it publicly.
