MTU 12V183 ENGINES, COOLANT TANK COST AND INFO

    Hey, guys recently took on the project of bringing a 76' Lazzara from 1995 back to life. I am having to do some serious engine work and wondering if anyone has experience with cost and information regarding the coolant tank and other related systems on the engines?

    Expensive. Also make sure the belt tensioner has a really good grease on it where it goes through the heat exchanger. Also change both belts. The front of those motors to the forward bulkhead on that boat is about 2” away.

    You should pay special attention to the engine electronics. I ran 12V183TE’s and recently had a circuit board die. The board are 20+ yrs old and have been sitting in a hot and humid environment for 2 decades, so look at them closely.
    Had to order it from Germany and even the Germans had a hard time finding one.
