    Engines are MTU Series 60 @ 825hp. Boat is 2007 Ocean 46.

I am getting an overheat code at close to WOT on Port engine. Survey said to check the CACs. At survey props were 28x38 and boat would not get much over 2000 before coding on intake high temp. Spare 28x36 props are on the boat now.

I am looking for way to determine how urgent it is to clean and test CAC.

I would also like to find alternatives to the official MTU guys. Or do I need the MTU guys for their computer read out?

    Thank for your help.

I would get the official guys out. Also check the aftercoolers on those motors as well. Even though MTU doesn't have a mandate like CAT. I managed a boat with the 825HP series 60, and at less than 2 years old and less than 200 hours had 1 aftercooler leaking into the engine and they changed both. The aftercoolers were produced by Garrett.
