I've got a 1987 Carver 27 Montego. The shower head is not flowing. I flip the shower pump switch and can hear the pump running, but not getting flow out of the shower. I've got the little valve on the handle for flow, but still nothing. I'm new to this boat, and wondered if there was another valve somewhere I needed to open. I'm not seeing anything under the head sink. Thanks, Tom
Welcome to the forum. Does any of the other fresh water fixtures provide water flow, or is this the only fixture connected to that pump? When the shower head is unscrewed is there flow? Is it fresh water or does this pump draw in raw water? Does the fresh water tank have lots of water?
The head and galley both provide water as they should. The pump draws from the tank and the tank is full. However, I will unscrew the shower head & hose and investigate further. Thanks, Tom
Some shower heads have a twisting nozzel for different spray patterns and one setting may be "off". Also, many have a fine internal filter screen that may be blocked. Can be cleaned by back flushing.
A push button before the shower head may be in the closed position. These are usually cheap shower hoses and heads. Disconnect the hose from the head and report back. Small screw in the middle of the shower spray head. Pull all of that apart and clean the usual gunk out. Switch may be a direct connect to the shower sump pump, not the potable water pump.
Disconnect the shower hose from the shower head, put it about 6" from your face and stare into it with a flashlight. Have someone else turn the water on full blast and see if you can see the blockage in the hose.
Could be calcium buildup. Either soak your existing shower head in a ziploc full of CLR and back flush or replace it...
