I stumbled across YF by accident and am glad I did.
All the other forums I've come across were for smaller boats, so it's nice to find a small connection to my former life.
I miss the yachting life, having crewed for 14 years. I'm retired in Tennessee now and enjoy reading about the current state of affairs in the industry and the ups and downs of everyone that either works on or owns a yacht.
    Thanks for the enjoyment.

15 years ago, there were very few resources available to any of us who loved big boats. It was mostly talk on the docks or reading magazines. With the advent of forums, we have the collective knowledge of like-minded people, no matter the subject or topic. The internet was founded on the exchange of information; to bring about an accurate consensus, but it appears social media has turned it into a popularity contest.

I believe we're creating a resource that will not only transcend our individual contributions, but is also bringing about positive change in the industry. There are some seriously experienced folks on this forum that help keep our world accountable.

I read your first few posts, boatme99, and like others that have come before you, I smile and think how lucky we are to attract people with experience, not the ad-lib remarks under a YouTube video!

    Welcome to YF!
