I’m just thinking of some auctions that have happened over the years and it seemed the result was lower than expected. There are several comps on the market: Faith, Aquarius, Barbara, Areti, and Kismet. I’d be interested where she will fall out at as compared to these others asking prices. I also hope that they will show the interior off as part of the prep for sale.

I just happened to look at the Burgess website. There are interior pictures now posted of Equanimity

Thanks for the heads-up. It's really well-appointed interior IMO.

Today was the last day for those sealed bids for "Equanimity" Tomorrow the sale via judicial sale happens.

And to see how much she sells for. I think I’ve seen all the news sites say $250m which is significantly higher than reality.

Sources say that when the second phase of the sale is concluded in March 2019 the yacht would have been auctioned off for more than $100,000,000.

Apparently they set a floor price of $130m for Equanimity after the auction failed to find a suitable buyer. I’ve never seen an auction where a yacht sold close to the actual build price or what you probably could get on the market if you had some time to market it for the right seller.

I’m curious what effect the sale of Equanimity will have on the other large yachts that are for sale. She originally had an asking price of €175m when sold and now we are hearing that anything over $100m would be considered. That’s about half of what the other 85m class yachts out there asking in the $200m range. I believe Solandge sold for about €150m while publicly asking in the €175m range. Granted, Equanimity has some risk that there could be some other lien holders that add risk to the ownership but I’d think this could negatively affect the prices of these large yachts such as when Apoise was auctioned off in the low $30ms.

Equanimity was sold for 126 million USD. A good price for the buyer in my opinion.

Will be sold to another Malaysian company. Apparently as the discussions were directly with the government no commission will be paid to Burgess.

Yep it is amazing and now her price is more than the last asking price when she was "Equanimity".

Wow really unfortuante. Really beautiful vessel. Maybe one day she will be sold to someone who uses it and maintains it.

She need a stop at the yard... all the paint coming off around the anchor pocket and strike plates and definitely needs a respray.
