    Looks VERY nice. I like the contrast that Black gives to a White motor.

    Polish the bolts, use TeffGell under the bolt heads against the valve cover.
    I like the black and would prefer it over white myself.

    The finish looks great. I would stick with the black, or another contrasting color, always just think of MAN covers as being a different color than the rest of the engine. But it is your yacht!

    The black wrinkle looks very good. I wouldn't do white wrinkle as it would be a bear to keep clean. The valve covers themselves don't leak, so any leak you will see from the gasket which will leak below the valve cover.

    I’m back to black wrinkle. I didn’t like white gloss. Too many imperfections. You can take them out but it’s $’s. Wrinkle really covers. The pic below is two coats.

    Yep. I was thinking of a metallic blue for mine - now I know I really have to spray a test. Do I see popped air bubbles aside from the non-faired dings? I wonder what the temperature of the cover was at application.

    The oven temp is 400°. Like I said, any gloss finish will take 3x the time at least to get it right. It's not bubbles. What you're seeing is the pits in the cover. If you blast the pits out it takes too much material out.

    They can probably special order blue in a wrinkle. For a brief moment I considered red wrinkle like a Ferrari.

    Very nice. Your engines look to be in great shape. I was working with my MAN shop yesterday on my cooling system work we are starting Wed. I asked how much the gold covers cost as I think they look sharp. He said $400 each. Yikes.

    I think chrome are $275ish and $315ish for the breather and oil fill ones. I really like the gold but I've heard it pits even faster than the chrome. Looks darn good though..
