US just changed regulations to allow yachts of over 300GT. There was a process before that was very long and expensive, but the new regulations must have eased that.

Certainly an exciting step in the right direction but the ink hasn't dried on the verbiage for the new rules as the USCG is still writing the large yacht code to go into effect in 2020. At this moment in time I'm not so sure these new rules will be inclusive for a 4,500 GT vessel that's "non inspected" so we'll have to wait and see. I figure that the new rules will include a tonnage cap around the 1,500 2,000 GT mark as yachts are getting larger and pushing the 200 meter LOA so it would make sense for a cap.

BE is now in, so I would figure they wouldn't kick her out. I do agree, that there will be some sort of inspection as they will not fully be "un-inspected", but the inspections may be delegated. My understanding is she may come in as compliant to another recognized yacht code, but what is still undetermined is maintaining of compliance/inspection once she's in.

    Thx. Pete,
Nice to have another NA aboard YF!
Well that's great news that BE is in the U.S. LYC interim registry. It'll be nice to see large vessels carry the U.S. flag from the sterns. I'm certainly not an authority on this topic but I figured that the USCG LYC sweet spot would be the 50 -60 meter size /600 to 1200 GT and assumed things would get sticky language wise when writing the LYC code for dealing with the behemoths floating around with 25 guests and 50-60 crew. It will be interesting to see what unfolds.

She is now heading to Gibraltar. I'm hoping I get to see her somewhere here in South Florida.

Curious to see if she keeps the US flag and if all the crew are US.

As of now I think they will keep the flag and the owners are Americans so I wouldn't be surprised if the crew are US.

Here is a rather long video but it shows her casting off from Gibraltar.

What I find interesting is when they shut off the mast decorative lighting and the LED strip on the bow... is how soft and progressively slow (from bright to dim) they went. Didn't seem like a switch maybe it is a capacitive dial on a touch screen or even a physical dimmer nob?

Oceanco is stepping up their game in every facet for sure. They seem to be the "go to" builder at the moment for NFL team owners as the next one due for builders trials "DreAMBoat is for another NFL owner. NFL yacht wars...

Saw this interior shot of "Bravo Eugenia" on twitter. I do not know who took the original shot for credit but it was on Don Van Natta jr. page.

She departed from Juneau today, and is now anchored in the Auke Bay anchorage.

This video is probably from that time when she was in Alaska. Fantastic scenery there.
