What does everyone use to keep your bridge curtains clear and clean? Any products better than the others nowadays? I used to use alcohol and cheesecloth 30 years ago but that is a no no with the new formulas I am told

Aquatech enclosure clear spray to clean them. It's a spray, you just spray it on and wipe it off. Or the IMAR cleaner. Then wax them with either the IMAR strataglass polish......or collinite insulator wax......either or.

I keep my clears clean with a Shurhold swivel pad combo and Mermaids Boat wash and wax.

Our enclosure is a combination of Makrolon and Regalite. We've only ever used the Imar 301 (cleaner) and 302 (polish) that are also recommended for Strataglass. Can't say that rules out other products; it's just our experience. Since "clears" are usually actually specific products, you might research OEM clears suppliers for their recommended cleaning products...

I suppose where some confusion may be is regarding in what capacity you are using the product and when. I am using boat wash and wax on my Barrett enclosure after every trip with a religious amount of water. This is the first area I wash after every trip.

I use a polycarbonate specific spray cleaner and micro fiber towel if I am out on the boat and need to clean something on the clears that catches my eye.

Attached is a pic I took after changing out the LED Nav lights in hardtop and is a good pic of the clears.

The IMAR polish after using the cleaner first is probably your best bet.

Yeah, I'd start with the Imar products. Don't expect miracles from the polish, though. Try it, then evaluate whether something else might be required.

CaboF's clears look great, I'd guess most likely from a combination of technique (including copious water), frequency (after every trip), and the covered dock house. Product may or may not be a large factor?

I believe ALL 3 mentioned carry IMAR strataglass cleaner, and the IMAR strataglass polish.

Lights are built into top. The hardtop has a cavity in the corner that hold in a custom piece of clear plastic with led light placed behind. I replaced both this past winter as part of maintenance. Here is a pic or two after removal and before cleanup.

    CaboFly,

Earlier in the thread I reduced the size of your flybridge pic, which was 1800 pixels. I don't mind processing the occasional image for members as a courtesy but if you're going to upload more pics, please reduce them to 640 pixels as per our guidelines. We have a lot of viewers on satnav and big pics use more bandwidth. This can slow down page loads and cost them more $$$.

    Thanks.
