The biggest challenge may be the dock. The insurer of the power boat may balk at the dock and keep in mind that dock prices in FLL and time to get permits and replacements have increased significantly. I know a circumstance over a year ago where the boat insurer refused to pay, the boat owner took no responsibility, and the home owners are still waiting to get their docks rebuilt.

Should be no problem in this case: The dock was clearly damaged from the impact, so was the sailboat, AND the mega yacht across the river AND the dock across the river. A 100’ yot out of control can do a lot of damage, and it did.
The insurer of the powerboat would be wise to hunker down and pay the bills instead of refusing to pay and digging a bigger hole for themselves in court.
Hopefully the Captain has personal liability and/or umbrella insurance.

I have 24/7 security cameras monitoring my property and my dock, curious if any property in the accident neighborhood also have them, would be interesting to see the crash footage.

Oh so another boat involved and another dock. Do you know if the Captain reported all that damage too? Perhaps he should have gotten a tow company.

Yup, a couple of tugs would have/ could have saved the day.
The other boat was a Johnson 88 across the River, picture above. (Navy Blue hull)
Not sure if the Captain reported it, but pretty sure the two affected Dock owner’s communicated with each other immediately.

I know that this is a serious incident, but I can't help thinking that some boats really hate wind pushers! Sorry, I'm bad!

Ha, sailboaters settled this country with your ancestor pilgrims: Show respect for us sailboaters, we found this continent.

Not so sure most native Americans would agree.

And as to the OA and it's path of destruction, not a boat from here and who knows about the captain.

Indian Chief ‘Two Eagles’ was asked by a white U.S. government official, “you have observed the white man for 90 years. You’ve seen his wars and his technological advances. You’ve seen his progress, and the damage he’s done.”

    The Chief nodded in agreement.

The official continued, “Considering all these events, in your opinion, where did the white man go wrong?”

The Chief stared at the government official then replied, “When white man find land, Indians running it, no taxes, no debt, plenty buffalo, plenty beaver, clean water. Women did all the work. Medicine man free. Indian man spend all day hunting and fishing; all night having sex.”

Then the chief leaned back and smiled, “Only white man dumb enough to think he could improve system like that.”

I'm only in that ditch almost once a year. There is some sphincter factors along the way but never came close to hitting anything. If the wrecking ball made it back to his dock, I don't see a NUC or mechanical problem.
Somebody really screwed up. Nor is anybody getting the whole story from the wrecking ball.

The Vikings found the continent, but they did not colonize or invade it, that would the Admiral of the Ocean Sea himself.
Perhaps a gross navigational error as he was looking for India.

If you saw it happen, why didn't you just stand on the sailboat and push the 100' off so it didn't hit it? I thought you were a Norseman! :D
