Dear all, New to the forum. I’m looking to buy a boat to sail the Caribbean with my partner and have found the below: It’s a steel hull, interested in people’s knowledge, experience, opinion and advice on the boat or more generally sailing the Caribbean. Also I can find nothing on the maker aside from they used to build in Wales are do not exist any more. All help greatly appreciated. http://www.yachtworld.co.uk/boats/1...sting&refSource=standard listing#.Ws3nfRrTWhD
Steel can be an excellent hull material for a blue water sailboat. It is stronger in many aspects than fiberglass. I know nothing of the builder and am not an expert by any means on sailboats to begin with. BUT, make sure to have a very good hull surveyor, survey it and audiogauge the bottom as well as inspecting the steel on the inside.
