Can anybody point me toward a replacement "stainless" exhaust mixer to fit a Northern Lights LUGGER Model M753K.3 SN 7532-32218C genset. Thanks in advance.
Have you tried Northern lights? Their replacement parts are usually pretty reasonable. If not, try D'angelo's marine exhaust in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Thanks, Capt. J. Apparently there is a major shortage of those mixers. I have one on back order, but no advice as to delivery! I will give D'angelo's a call.
why stainless? The cast iron Northern Lights mixer on my last boat lasted well over 3500 hours. I replaced another one with over 4000 hours.
I sure wish my mixers would last like that! The original cast Iron mixer was rusted and broken and needed replacement at 950 hours. I don't know about the treatment it received before I bought the boat. I replaced that existing part with a new stainless oem casting in August 2015 and it is now rusted thru and leaking into the Generator cooling vent. Two years 3 months and 135 hours ain't much life in my book. Must be the radioactive water from Japan. To add insult to injury I haven't been able to find a replacement for what should be a normal replacement part! And to make matters even worse the Admiral has had to cancel everybody she had invited for the Christmas boat parade where she feeds everybody, can't cook without the generator. We just cleaned out the Mains mixers and other than calcium, solidified salt and small rocks they were still perfect after 35+ years. They were made in Florida with metal my mechanic called Unobtanium, beautiful condition,he said they will outlast the boat!
