We will be staying at Bahia Mar, boatless unfortunately. I went to FL this past weekend to test run the Bertram after a major rebuild of the port motor and found a casting flaw in one of the new heads resulted a fuel leak. I have been told from Detroit that I'd have the new head in 2-3 weeks. So, who is going to the show?

I hear someone from this site will be putting on his death defying, aerial spectacular with his remote controlled helicopter. I've seen it once and couldn't believe my eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh man... the pressure's on! The truth is, my skills appear to be much better when everyone's drinking! However, this year should be more exciting (dangerous?) for spectators because I haven't flown in nearly a year.

Unfortunately, I don't have a simulator (never did) and I won't have time to practice in the days leading up to the show. Unlike, walking or riding a bike, the inverted stuff requires some warming up... or spectators might become victims. Might have to keep the bird upright this year...

We'll be anchored just north of Las Olas, around the bend leading to the Sunrise bridge. Come one, come all... but bring a hard hat! ;)

I'm coming down for the show, but I'll be watching it from the house. I saw Carl fly last year. Its amazing what he can do with his machine. I didn't know how good he was until I took my son to an rc field in Grand Haven last year and watched a few guys with helis try to hover. My son's been bugging me for one ever since!

    Carl,
Is this show going to be the debut appearance for your T-Rex 450?
Hope you can post some pics and video of the heli's performance.

    Hi Arnie,

I may bring it to the A & S show, but I've only flown the little bird twice. I'd really like a little more time with it before flying it in public. The other factor is the weather. Typically, there's a fairly good breeze on the water and these flying finches don't take well to gusts or varying wind conditions. They are best flown on calm days.

Most likely, I'll bring one of my big birds, which should be equally amusing because I haven't flown in so long. Short of some practice, it's downright dangerous to fly 3-D. This year, I'll stick to FAI maneuvers with my competition machine shown here...

    Carl,
    Is this a gas-powered heli?
