New Wally 145 Under Construction Sold

Sail and motor yacht manufacturer Wally Yachts is happy right now because of a major contract signed. A Wally 145 that is presently under construction has been sold! While Wally has built in this size bracket before with sail yachts -yachts like "Esense" and "Better Place"- this 145 will set herself apart simply by the design and styling. Naval Architecture is by German Frers while the interior is a collaboration between Wally, Studio Mario Sculli and Droulers Architects.

The interior is light and airy and is pinned on ample use of wood, particularly teak. Black accents are seen throughout to offer contrast to the woody and generally light tones. The saloon area is a uniform space that is made to feel larger by the wrap of windows from the raised nature of the superstructure as well as the glass in the roof. Physically it can be expanded to be used in an indoor/outdoor living concept by opening the sliding aft doors. The aft overhang is so large that the main cockpit area outside is fully shaded and can function as an extension of the main saloon.

A cool feature is a sunpadded area towards the aft of the main deck that is cantilevered over the edge of the master suite cockpit. It gives a sense that the structure is magically floating while serving to partially shade the owner's cockpit during the day. The 44-meter sloop-rigged yacht is presently under construction and will be launched for her experienced sailing owner in May 2019.
