Two Wally 70's have been sold, one of which is under construction. One Wally is currently available, and the fourth is being on spec for delivery in early '07.

Heh... I was mostly right. The Lunchboat and the red one are out and about already, that much is certain.

Why would they do that?? Nothing I can think of really fits there except chairs, and then only when the boat is not in motion, or off plane. They should have brought those sections up level with the sunpads to enlarge those areas.

Just guessing, but I would think for handling dock lines, etc? Not really intended as a lounge area?

There is a garage under there, you can see the seam line in the photo below. One reason i can suggest for the raised platform would be to make the most of the size of the back end. Keeping the overall length down by having a smaller swim platform, but increasing deck space by extending over the top of the garage.

Having stood on that, it doesn't half feel high up!

One way to get round this issue is to buy a Sealine with a Extending Cockpit System! ;)

Very useful photo Jon, thanks for that! I still like the idea of a rear platform with railing (or bulwark), in addition to the low swim platform. Just seems like it would come in handy from time to time.

You can't see it in the picture, but the aft deck (aft of the sun pads) connects to the side decks, so with the railings you have complete and fairly safe mobility right around the boat. The Viking / Princess is similar.
