hello all I'm new to the forum. I have a 2000 carver 356 aft cabin. Currently the boat has isinglass/canvas aft deck side doors. I would like to put in the full swing open side doors. Can anyone help me find these as well as all nessacery gear to complete the job.

    Thanks!

Start by calling Carver, ask for Brett in parts and have you hull number ready. If they don't have any (which would make sense at this point) they may be able to make them. My experience has been they are very good at taking care of the customer.

I would ask if they can give you the exact dimensions or a detailed drawing that you could take to a plexi shop. I have a dockmate who cuts plexi for a sign shop but he is in Milwaukee. Not sure where you are located. Another dockmate owns my previous 356 but he won't be at the boat for a while yet. I should be up to the shed this weekend and I could measure his then. Somebody out there should also be able to measure them for you. A stainless steel piano hinge is what I think is used to connect it.

Deminsions as well as the pole the door closes to is what I need. Can probably use boxed aluminum and cut it down somehow put A base and top on to mount to the aft deck.

Never saw one without the doors. Does it have the hardtop? I'll take some measurements and maybe some pictures if I get up there this weekend.

Try greatlakesskipper.com. They carry lots of used boat parts. You might get lucky....

They made them for each boat, I am going to doubt that you will find any leftover stock. I think your best bet is replicating them from another boat. I almost did this a few years ago on my 370 but I found it wasn't worth the expense. I had doors made from canvas and polycarbonate glass that swing in on the zipper for a hinge like the normal door would. Works perfect and doesn't take up any deck space like a stanchion would.

Have you tried a local glass shop that specializes in custom shower doors?
