My carver voyager 570 is woefully defficient in ventilation. The pilot house has an opening door on the starboard side and a large fixed light on port. I'm wondering what the feasibility would be of cutting into the existing window and adding a sliding window assembly inside of it. I realize this is likely to be difficult as the existing window is tempered glass. Unfortunately with the style of the existing windows I don't think a sliding unit to replace the entirety of the fixed window.

Has anyone done something like this?

    Thanks
    Ben

You think about opening up a forward window?

The only opening windows are in the staterooms below. I have a hatch in the VIP I could open but i don't think that will provide much in the way of ventilation to the salon.

    Thanks

I typed to fast and didn't explain well,
The pilot house forward center windshield can be pulled, frame modified, glass cut and reassembled where the bottom (or top) 6" can open on a hinge and let air in.

Oh, that makes good sense. I'll give that some consideration. I'll take a look at the window and see about the feasibility.

    Thanks
