Watching the video and seeing the gargantuan dimensions it's difficult not to be amazed by her, but also notice how much emphasis is given to form over function. Is there a beach club on this yacht? If there is its not on the stern

There are a couple of hull openings in the stern (one above the other) that may constitute a beach club.

Saw those but because of the hull shape they would sit high, I'm assuming the doors on the side may be it....

She is currently in Kristiansand, Norway. To me she looks like she is fully loaded.

I heard she will be at another yard for interior fit out. Plus remember there was an issue with her draft passing a channel in Denmark. We'll all figure it out soon, there were couple posters here with inside knowledge wish they would pass a little information.

It could be green in retrospect...but as we all know depending on what is in the water....the light filtering through can appear to be different than what it really is. While on that note... I wonder what other lights she has on the exterior... it cannot just be her underwater lighting for decoration/security... she has to have some kind of other exterior decorative lights?

Speaking of form over function, what about visibilty from the wheelhouse? It's set about halfway back (or more) the length of the hull and is tucked in behind the sheer line. With such a high bow and two masts in the sight line, I imagine it would be difficult to get a clear view.

I googled Sailing Yacht A and Kristiansand and threw up a couple, mostly on Norwegian news sites.

The Telegrapgh has reported in http://bit.ly/2kqpxDZ that Sailing Yacht A has passed through the Strait of Drogden is on her way to Southern Spain. Can anyone confirm this?

She may be headed for Spain but right now she is still in Kristiansand, Norway, so she is through the Drogden and out of the Baltic.

I can't think of another Yard in Northern Europe, outside of the Baltic, where she could be fitted out.

maybe she will sail south to spain (few yards there but not to SY A standards in my opinion) if she heads to France now I can see that happening La Ciotat

A quick question about her name: when the media announced it, I thought it was S/Y A, like the majority of the sailing yachts (e.g. S/Y Eos, S/Y Maltese Falcon) and not literally "Sailing Yacht A", which one can attest looking at her name plate (two tiny "S" and "Y" letters next to the big "A" letter).

Could this be a temporary name, at least until her predecessor is sold and/or changes her name?

It might not be as much fitting out than installing all the loose fittings and other owners supplied items.

For anybody who is interested; she is currently making her way, very slowly (about 8 knots) down the North Sea towards the Isle of Wight.

Currently in Gibraltar, plenty of close-up photos taken of her on her arrival are online.

The video of a tug towing S/Y A into harbour and the mooring operation is excellent also. A lot of detail can be seen that only gives a hint at the wizardry involved in this vessel.
The paint job and the design do an amazing job of making the vessel continue to look like an artists impression with minimal indication of scale and only upon seeing people onboard are you reminded that this is now real.
It looks like the mooring deck on the stern is hidden under a cover when not in use. The cover looks to lift to form a roof over mooring operations. A nice touch to keep the clean lines of the design, but I imagine lifting the cover every time lines need to be adjusted is irritating. I guess only one example of the compromises of form over function required to create what could be considered a contemporary artwork rather than a motorsailer.
Like others I am liking it more and more and can now overlook it looking slightly like a urinal. They just need to release some images of it under sail to put the icing on the cake.

It is the same set up as on the motoryacht "A"...in regards to the aft mooring deck and the side covers that lift up.

Managing the fenders on her seems like a challenge. You can see that they take up most of the view from the wheelhouse as they stage them.
