After I purchased my Roamer (dual 8V71s) we traveled from Buffalo NY, to Cleveland OH to bring her home. On the was the we had a breach in the exhaust hose on the starboard engine inboard side.
We had the hose replaced with part number SAE J2006R1.
At the end of the season while traveling to the storage facility some 53 miles away, the hose failed again.
I have enough hose from the first repair to fix this again with the same hose. BUT, this can't be normal? Right?
Is there a heaver duty product? Should I be looking for another problem?
    Your help is appreciated.

Hard to tell but usually I see silicon high temp hoses to join rigid exhaust sections. They are designed to flex.

Any sign of heat damage to the inside of the hose ?

Hmmm, we have not removed the breached hose yet. We just got back from the storage facility after taking this photo.
I can tell you that the engine was running hotter than that other on the trip.

Also, do you have a suggested part number for the silicone high temp hose?

...restriction/back pressure? You would have black smoke.

...inadequate water flow/overheat? Hose failure is probably heat related.

Well, stop running it hot before you blow it up. It's most likely the raw water impellor needs to be changed. A lack of water flow can definately damage the exhaust hose.

Further; restricted inlet, sea cock, inlet hose, strainer, heat exchanger(s) or dump can.

Just changed the impeller at the beginning of last season. There is plenty of water flow on the starboard side, both out the side and out of the exhaust. The same amount as the other engine if not more.

Just google silicon exhaust hose 8" (or whatever size you need). Some come with a "bump" which allows some flexing, needed in applications between th engine and a fixed exhaust.

If water flow looks good, it may not be a heat issue

After all these years, an exhaust hose fries twice in a season?
A "V" engine may have two dump cans, one flowing water, the other full of zincs and trash.
If the picture is the correct side up, it looks like heat eating the hose at the top, not fatigue.
Lets get an IR gin on the system next run.
