Check out the Facebook page of Dutch Yachting. They have placed a render of the new sailing yacht under sail. (Oceanco made a statement that the name 'Project Solar' is in fact wrong.)

You can also see her bow. It looks like a very unique design. I haven't seen it before. I wonder what the purpose is.

I think You are right: (from Facebook page of Dutch Yachting)
Not a bulbous bow but a partial reverse bow

Why would that come in handy?

    I suppose for two reasons:
    1) longer waterline means more dinamic speed (Froude law: speed = 1.34 square root of waterline lenght)
    2) simply a fashion, at the turn of XIX century ships had already reverse bows.

Thats a very interesting bow design. I think the project name is Black Pearl, but that doesn't entirely matter.

I really like this new bow design she has. It will be interesting to see it sailing.

Besides the increased waterline, I feel that maybe this design will see her cutting through the water better while still having the flair to spray out bigger waves.

The bow was revealed, check in the web.
A reverse bow below and a traditional elegant one up, forming a "<" looking the hull with the bow on the right of thr screen.

Yes, the fabric is off now revealing the bow very interesting hybrid between a reverse and conventional hull. The reverse element would increase the waterline length longer than it would if she had the conventional bow. Can't wait to see these masts stepped.

I have a very good feeling she is going to be a very beautiful sailing vessel.

She is stunning. I just hope that the owners will reveal more about her instead of keeping her strictly private. When will she be stepped?

The 91.5-meter Luiz de Basto design both hull and superstructure are now inside the build shed at OceAnco.

I wouldn't have guessed that a publicly made design would have actually been made. I don't remember many of those concepts ever coming into fruition.

Also, for some reason I remember this being advertised as a Lurssen design too. Is this true?

I believe this aluship aluminium superstructure that was recently transported to oceAnco and mated with the superstructure and subsequently wheeled into the indoor shed is what we are looking at in this rendering. Although studying the design vs the actual aluminium structure you can see one or two tweaks to the design... likely client inspired.

Solar is back at the shipyard, and it seems that they will step the masts today, all cranes in place and 1 mast already in the slings (still horizontal)

Hot on the heels of Solar, oceAnco has launched Y715, a very close sister to Nirvana.

I think she is stunning. Maybe a successor for Nirvana, she shares quite a few similarities.
