    A friend is looking at a 50 MY near Sandusky, OH. Any recommendations appreciated for the vessel and the Detroits. Thanks in advance.

    This guy surveyed a Catalina 30 for me in the early 90's.......I laughed my ass off during the proceedings, meanwhile within minutes he grabbed the engine with both hands and lifted it, motor mount lag bolts being stripped in the bilge stringers..... Saved me a ton of money. When the Soviet Union fell he tried to sell me a time share in a Soviet sub to be based in Cleveland for dinner cruises. MOST entertaining fellow, and from what I have seen and heard from others very knowledgeable. My advice is worth what you paid for it.
