One of our senior members is head of the in-house design team for Sunseeker. He hasn't posted in a couple of years, but he was responsible for many of the original Sunseeker designs, which had a profound impact on the trends that shaped the industry for many years.

Not my cup of tea either. It seems so awkward, but people bought the Pontiac Aztec...

You mean people paid money for a Pontiac Aztec?
I thought they were loaner cars of some kind.
I also remember the Pontiac self propelled aquarium; Trans Sport
Also note, Pontiac is not around any more.

Only because it had a removable (beer)cooler as a center console.

I worked with someone who owned one. He never liked it. Too gimmicky.

Was it a car? SUV? A tent? A picnic table? At least it had the cooler going for it.

Sunseeker have made nice boats, but having a profound impact is a big word for them.

They have always copied Italian yachts and ideas and put them into a more commercial level.

    Well frankly, I like it.
I also liked "A" and genuinely think an Incat wavepiercer could be a find base for the truly something of a yacht.

For an industry with such a high % of pure vanity at the foundation the exteriors surely are quite in a rut.

Received a PR on the new 52' Manhattan, which looks as broken-up as a New York City skyline...

We also make some of our boats to blend in with the background...

That 52 looks like a 30 express, then I realized it had to be bigger based on th size of the captain.

What happened to the basic concept of simple flowing lines?

Looking at that boat in total, an incredible design for a 52' boat. Extremely spacious. As to the profile, I have to laugh that if builders follow tradition they get criticized as to cookie cutter design, but break a bit and then reaction there. I like some uniqueness here and there.

New 52 Manhattan has a nice shear line.
On the other hand the large windows design is getting out of hand and so is the height, but this is my opinion.
She is definitely to high for a 52, more so when you think that this is a Sunseeker which had its success mostly coming from sleeker looking machines.
    Mid Life crisis!

Surely Olderboater you have a new Sunseeker so I am sure you like there designs ;)
