Last year I purchased a 1984, 60' PHMY. This is the model with full walk around side decks, Portuguese bridge, and 4 staterooms, and uses the 18' beam hull

I would like to chat with any other owners of this model. I understand that only 11 were built.

We have taken her offshore, and she is a wonderful cruiser. Does anyone own a similar model/year OA?

87 Ocean Alexander 60. Same hull but shorter. Love our pilot house layout. Is your 70 PH or aft cabin? Where are you moored and what is the name of your ship?

I see she is an aft cabin. Beautiful. We are moored in Kehma, Tx. Our OA spent most of here life in Juno, Alaska coming to Texas in 08. Not many OA's on the Gulf Coast but popularity is increasing. The lines are appealing and moored side by side would look like like big sister and little sister. image.jpeg

Very nice! It's funny you mention Kehma. We just found some paperwork here that put our boat in that very spot. Apparently they had a bit of work done there in Kehma some 20 years ago. So this boat has either been through the Panama Canal or some ambitious person put it on a truck (doubtful).
I'm seeing more OA's for sale here on the West Coast, but not many in the marinas.
3 months into ownership and I am very impressed with its ability to hold up to ocean travel. We ran it for 12 hours straight last month from San Diego with minimal interior problems (loosened up a few hoses, but not much else). The DD's ran beautifully. While it's a lot of maintenance and repair, the boat itself is quite sound and beautifully constructed. IMO.

Still haven't done a long open ocean cruise yet. Still up dating many systems but so far has handled some 6' to 8' in a solid, smooth fashion. What were your sea conditions? If you would like direct correspondence, it our call name in all small letters at g mail

Yes they are great boats. Is she no longer in your family?
