In a never seen before - marine industry first -we have several new hybrid condo-yachts. Bridge tenders are boycotting...

On the subject of condo-yachts, I could have spent half the day at the Viking Yachts display alone, but I had places to go, people to see and yachts to shoot. So here are just a couple of images. And yes, that is the Viking 92 with enclosed bridge and flybridge. COOOOL!!

Outboards abound! Center consoles dominate the recreational market...

Look at this yacht. It's the Absolute Navetta 52. I did a sea trial on this yacht recently and was pleasantly surprised on how the axe bow sliced the seas, either running into or with the ocean. I did push the 52 off a wave in a following sea and the bow dynamics not only cut through as I stuffed her into the back of a steep wave, but there was no pounding and the bow popped right back up. Very impressive. Oh, and the rest of the yacht is pretty cool, too.

Well, that's it from Collins Ave. I did get to Watson Island for Super Yacht Miami, but we'll set up a new thread in the next few days for those images. Let's hope the show organizers can work out the kinks before next year's shows.

    Until next time.....

Great photography and shots as always, terrific commentary, and entertaining writing. Thanks for doing a great job on covering the Miami Boat Show/the Boat Show on Collins/the Brokerage Show/ and the hard to remember the new name Yachts Miami Beach.

    Super job!

    Thanks Sir,
Well played. Super impressed with the Ferretti Group display. Hatteras bow flare, yes please. Put a Hell Cat in that garage instead of the Vette and you have a great package. The Vette makes it a very good package though!
Those deep blue Verado 400s, oh my!

Thanks for sharing, didn't see the Beneteau/Monte Carlo. I am sure they would not allow Cruisers and Carver/Marquis to be the entry level representative. Glad to see Carver hanging in there and moving forward.

It seems that Princess may need to move forward, I think SeaRay L class, Monte Carlo and Prestige are taking layout and features a step ahead.

    Thanks again!

Tom, you outdid yourself at this year's Yachts Beach Miami--err--Miami Yachts Beach--umm--Yachts Miami Beach(!), yeah, that's it.
Insightful nuggets of info, along with the usual great photographic gifts.
