    Ok, assuming i'm right ;)

    Here's an English question for you.

    An English boat company recently had a change of Managing Director. The new MD came over from the company's US owners to take the helm.

    Name:

    1. The English company;
    2. The Former Managing Director and one of his previous companies;
    3. The US owners;
    and
    4. The new Managing Director.

    :)

    Back in the morning with the answer.. or a clue!

    Well the only company that makes that size boats in UK is Sealine. I know Tom Murrant started it, and Ocke Mannerfelt designed a few of them.

    Well Carl, having lived in Sealine's home town all my life, seen the company grow over the years, acquiring new factory units, building new ones, stopping traffic to transport new boats, etc, etc. But to be honest, its always good to know a thing or two about your employers, right?! :rolleyes:

    Anyway, to move things on the answers to the questions were:

    1 - Sealine
    2 - Patrick Von Sydow, formerly from Sunseeker and Saab i believe,
    3 - US owners are Brunswick
    4 - New MD is Rick Stone

    Seeing as though i stumped you all except Jonny, Superyachtie, you're up next...

    Well that was too easy really....althought they are not all current F1 drivers, but I'll let that pass :rolleyes: You could also have Eddie Jordan, whos 105 was at LIBS and his new ones coming then end of the year. Damon Hill, and Pedro De La Rosa Hawk 48', and theres others im sure. So.. Carl your up.

    Aha... Eddie Jordan! I couldn't remember his name. Thanks Jonny.

    Give me a few minutes on the next question. I'll try to come up with something cerebrally challenging. Given the level of knowledge among you guys... that's not going to be easy.

    He was best known for his contribution to offshore race boats. He went on to design a very innovative yacht in 1995. In recent years, his penmanship resurrected a famous brand. And finally... he designed, without question, the coolest woody in history.

    What is his name?
    What is the name the yacht?
    Who built the woody?

    I think the B-28 starting getting press exposure around the early-to-mid 90's, so 1991 may well have been about the time Ocke built the first one. But, this isn't the person I'm eluding to.

    Here's a few hints...

    1. The woody was featured in Playboy.
    2. The famous line of boats he restyled was founded by Christopher Smith.
    3. His offshore designs made an impact on the UIM circuit.
    4. The 1995 yacht in question was 117' in length.

    Anyone wanna guess?

    You got it Codger! :)

    Alpha-Z was built by VanDam Woodcraft. Easily takes top honors for the world's most wonderful woody, but purists would vote for the resurrection of Gar Wood's Typhoon.

    The 117' yacht I was eluding to is Lady Tiffany, built by Norship, finished off by Devonport. And of course, the famous line of boats... Chris Craft. I've always respected Michael Peters' work, but in recent years I've come to have greater admiration for another designer that goes by the screen name of a special edition Benz. ;)

    Here's Lady Tiffany...
