This winter storage season I decided to re-finish the folding hatch going down to the salon. Thinking it was solid wood I sanded to hard only to find out the top is only a veneer. Now I have major blemishes were the finish needed some extra attention. Any ideas, thinking of a self adhesive veneer. What species would it be, thought teak, but would teak veneer accept my varnish. Ideas, suggestions. The admiral is really pissed. " if if ain't broke, don't fix it". To much time on my hands. Tried to upload a pic, can't figure it out.

You should be able to find a teak plywood piece and replace the entire hatch. And yes it will take your varnish. I have used it for some trim pieces on my 3608
