My owner would like to move up, so larger or nearly same size trades would be considered. Price has been reduced to $649K. For full details visit www.65donzi.com

    Under $400K buys this boat...

We'd like to move to a newer boat- under $400K will buy the boat. Now being hauled and worked on so you can see her out of the water.

I still cannot believe this boat is not sold! Now listed on the site (google 65donzi.c o m) for $350K. Also look on the sportfish forum here under Donzi. Nothing needs to be done- all systems are top notch.

If you search "65 donzi" Yachtworld or MacGregor yacht sales you will find the broker listing.

Please do not post the actual link as it's not allowed here in yachtforums.

Like other members, I don't understand why this yacht is still available.
Even if it is the engines, at this price it would make an excellent candidate for a repower of the latest available.
When I look at later model boats of this size, the bottom dollar does not make sense.
In a better comparison: Purchasing a well maintained Donzi 65 with a repower in mind, is still way more economical than buying an equivalent quality sportfish.
I am not associated with the boat in any way.

The problem is the Sportfish market from 45'-75' is extremely soft. All of the builders are selling a lot of 80' +, that's pretty much what all of the well known custom builders have 2 years of orders for and are building such as Merritt, Jim Smith, Bayliss, Roscioli, and others. Even Viking is only doing well on the 74' + sportfishs. The other issue is given the soft market, it's not that much more expensive (with current interest rates) for owners to get into a 2002 or newer sportfish with newer technology. The engines are one downside. The cost of the boat is cheap IMO, but then the maintanence of a boat that size has gotten expensive........

Found this boat on Yachtworld and spoke with the broker today.

Think it's worth a look 6 years later?

Flying down to Florida next month to look at some other boats...

Absolutely. Take a loot at the other Sea Duece thread on here, the link is below. The owner maintains it constantly to excellent shape and is constantly doing upgrades on the boat.

We could really use your feedback on what you find in Florida and your comparisons between what you like and don't.
I think a new YF thread with your thoughts could be interesting. Your wife's comments would be welcome also.

I agree. I've spoken with folks who are aghast at what they see in some older boats for sale. They all look good on the internet however... :)

    How about this, Bamboo?

Beautiful salon cabinetry removed for a large electric fireplace, a turkey fryer in one of the showers, the settee table stand gnawed by a dog, and one of the salon windows shattered as if it had been shot by a .22 rifle.

I'm dead serious. All were on the same boat, and I saw it with my own eyes.

He warned me ahead of time. He's actually fantastic.
It was all cosmetic, and the boat may have been a "value" but you'd think more prep time would go into selling a vessel.
Plus if that's what the inside looks like, what kind of motor maintenance history are we looking at?

Definitely makes you wonder about the circumstances under which it went on the market. Likely a repossession or a death or major health issue or someone who moved far away.
