Thanks for the information. When do the yachts typically start to arrive? After seeing some photos of how packed the yachts are in there I would probably have the best luck getting them arriving.

I'm not sure when the actual move in starts, perhaps someone else can chime in on here, but it's usually about a week before the day of the show, give or take.

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show set for Nov. 5-9 will feature an array of catamarans at Catamaran Cove.

With the goal of developing the largest catamaran show in the world, organizers of the 56th annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show announced the addition of Catamaran Cove.

Located at the Pier 66 show location, the dedicated catamaran section will feature power and sail catamarans. There will be about 20 catamarans on display, ranging from 35 to 95 feet, from manufacturers that include Gemini, Horizon and Gunboat.

I might try to attend this one day only this year, but next year perhaps I will exhibit my Gamefishing Under Sail Catamaran concept.

Looking forward to attending FLIBS this year, probably won't make it out to the docks, but looking forward to seeing all the new good stuff in the exhibit hall.

Our move-in time is Monday 1:00 pm. Left Thunderbolt GA this afternoon. Now in Fernandina Beach for the night. Tomorrow Port Canaveral.

    Ken,

Jenn asked me to find out of your significant other will be there as well, but I think they already got in touch through FB. In any case, hopefully we can meet up Friday aft.

I typically make a 150-mile round trip to FLIBS each day to save money on hotels. Because I only work Thu & Fri and Bahia Mar typically requires a 4-night stay, it doesn't make fiscal cents. Today, I got lucky and managed to book a two night stay for Wed & Thu night. Look forward to seeing you Friday afternoon Kevin.

I lived in Laud from 1969 to 1997, then gradually moved north.

I'll be at Worth Ave's party near the Hall of Fame a little after 6. Maybe we can all meet there?

Got to Bahia Mar about an hour ago. I've never had the luxury of staying in the tower. Talk about a room with a view! Sorry about the pic quality. Shooting into the setting sun with an older iPad. It must be one of the hottest days on record. Heat and humidity rivals August.

After walking the docks and offering free setup labor to industry friends, I met up with Tom Serio to rehydrate. We both agreed the show appears to be on a smaller scale this year. There are a few builders noticeably missing, while others are FLIBS making debuts.

If you've never seen the chaos the day before the show, literally 18 hours from opening, you'd be hard pressed to believe it's possible for everything to be completed in time. I'll post a few pics I took with my iPhone shortly.

I'm in town, and will be at the show on Friday and Saturday with my owner, and then will be back on Sunday to look around on my own. Would love to meet some fellow YF members.

Hours before show opening, just about every booth was in a state of disarray, except for one. DeAngelo Marine Exhaust has about the coolest counter at the show and with a Sea Clean system on display, it was the cleanest too.
