When your hitched the third time, more synthetics in your chest than carter has pills, Old and crude, to many miles on da seat, low on rum; It always looks like the same centerfold every month...

Yeah, that's not going to last very long. The nudity is the only thing keeping them on the shelf.

Actually eliminating nudity is their only hope for saving the magazine. There are too many places online to get all the free nude photos one could want and far dirtier than anything Playboy ever had. They will continue with sexy photos. However, their circulation has dropped tremendously. One reason is internet availability and the other is the chains of stores that discontinued carrying their magazine. So they ended up too dirty for some and not dirty enough for others. Now, the bet is still against their survival, but now they'll be in the same market as Maxim and others.

Playboy, the magazine, has just become an anachronism and likely headed down the same path their clubs went down.

Yup, heard about that. Bad idea.
Those MBAs are too stupid to see where us blue-color guys are coming from and what we would like to see in a Playboy Magazine.
Columns on political science, the latest in male fashion and chic food from some country the average red-neck never heard about?
Nah, bring back the centerfold and don't be shy.

It's been years (maybe decades) since I've even looked at a Playboy, but I remember it as a very informative publication. Also loved the cartoons. But the pics are truly "who cares" in this day and age. Trouble is it's name. It fit and was cool in the 1950's to 70's, but today it stops it from being considered a serious topic publication. I'm afraid their time has come and gone. Maybe they need to change it to something like 'PB Monthly'. Then they can quietly change it behind the scenes to stand for something current that would fit that. More likely though is that it will go the way of so many print magazines today, along with sex phone lines and cam girls.

The playboy website's traffic has quadrupled since removing nude pics from the site. They believe that magazine subscription numbers will see a huge increase due to the changes.

The publishers of Playboy have realised they have the profile that is recognised, therefore marketable, and the potential traffic to be profitable, but their content was blocking them from linking with Facebook, You Tube and similar filtered platforms. It's a smart move that opens its spread (pun intended) to a huge audience where it is immediately recognised.

And blocking them from magazine racks in some mass merchandisers, pharmacies, groceries and all those places magazines are sold heavily. Now with magazines that are largely subscription that's not a huge issue. However, Playboy typically depended a great deal on rack sales vs. subscription.

The reality was they had no choice but to change. Whether it will be successful or not is TBD.

I've heard they're still going to have nudes, but not in the main magazine, a seperate subscription with like special edition magazines with just nudes like they do now.

I don't know what it is, but whenever I see a picture of Hef ...I laugh out loud. Was he ever cool? Maybe to squares.

Most of my Playboy viewing took place between the ages of 13 - 15. After that I figured out how to get right 'round the real thing.
