I have a 1976 35' Viking with 350 HP each engine. Carburetor motors. Has any one ever switch to 4 bladed props? and if so what diameter and pitch did you find worked best
    Any info. is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Jetawave

I did the same thing on the same boat and switched back to the 3 blade because they were faster.
the 4 blade got me on plane faster, but the cruise speed was lower

Thanks, RT46. I appreciate you help. Do you think that by increasing the pitch on the 4 bladed would of increased you cruise any ? Do you happen to remember what the Diameter and pitch was of the 4 bladed? Thanks, Jetawave

3 blades or 4 blades, the diameter and pitch remain the same. Better know what you're doing before you start adding pitch and load on those old gas motors.

Not certain, but my best recollection is that the wheels were 19x18 three blade w 1 3/8 shaft.

You drop the pitch by 1" when you go from a 3-blade to a 4-blade prop.

yes, that was what I had.

but I changed back to the 3 blades, the three blades had overall better performance.
