    Hi guys.

I am a new owner of a 1988 Carver 3807. I was hoping that you might be able to answer some questions that I have regarding the Wet Bar on the aft deck.

First of all do any of you have issues with the sink not draining fully (there is a small amount of water that stays around the drain hole and there is nothing clogging the drain). It seems as if the sink is too level for it to drain correctly. Also do any of you know what the metal grate is for in the sink? Where could I purchase another one?

I have noticed that there is a small gap (about 1/2" to 1") by the forward section of the sink, right where the bottom portion of the bar meets the side that has the sliding Plexiglas doors. The gap is only on the sink side and I can see the 2 or 3 screws not being fully screwed in. Does anyone know how I can tighten those screws in that area?

There is also a slight gap on the side of the bar area. This is the area where when the doors leading to the salon are open block it. Its on the side of the refrigerator. Does anyone else have a large gap there? Its a rounded gap.

I don't have a draining issue in mine, no water stays in the sink so it could be the way your boat sits. The drain fitting does sit a little higher than the sink so a little bit of water may sit there but negligible. I use the grate like a drip tray; rince cups and put them upside down to drip dry. It's doubtful you can get them from Carver now but if you call them with a hull number, they may be able to give you the manufacturer info that you can contact. You can also bend your own into shape if you find a larger grate from a fridge lying around. Coat the ends you cut with liquid rubber though or they'll just start rusting in no time.

My bar/fridge assembly has a little bit of a gap but nothing of concern. The gap is a bit larger going around the moulding but again no big deal. The vetical gaps are caulked. These are molded sections that are assembled on at factory and don't always mate up perfectly. If you think there is room for tightening and there is no caulking in that entire side, try tightening the screws a bit while bushing the assembly in with your shoulder. Don't expect the screws to move all the weight themshelves, you'll just crack the fiberglass. Your best is to remove the fridge and icemaker first. This will also allow you to inspect inside to see if there is something preventing the assembly from tightening up further.
