I'm wondering if anyone knows where the shower/AC sumps are in a Carver 506. I want to check/ clean them, and my marina has been no help. Thanks!

Not 100% sure for 506 but on my 4207 the pumps are remote of the showers themselves. The aft shower pump is under the bed and the forward shower pump is under the galley floor just forward of the engine room stairs.

It's ok to lift the hatches to learn what's underneath. In fact it's highly recommended. Don't forget to look for hatches under the bunks. All bilge pumps should be inspected occasionally to be sure they're not blocked by debris.

Thank you for the input. I have done some searching under the hatches, although perhaps too perfunctorily. On another forum, I was told that there are 2 sumps, the forward one below the water manifold, and the aft one either in the bilge (which I checked), or under the bed (which I haven't checked yet), depending on hull number.

Look under the hatch closest to the showers. Follow the drain line from the shower.

Also, they are NOT the small rule shower sump units, but 12 to 15 gallon poly grey water holding tanks, that have rule 3000 pumps in them.

Thanks for that additional info--I have been looking for the small ones. I may have just overlooked them!
