Hey guys! I'm new to this forum, and the SF world. I currently have a 31' Center Console, but I am looking to move up to a 45-55' SF. I have been looking at several 48' Vikings in the 85-90 year range with 8v92s. Can anyone give me any insight on these boats? Looking for thoughts on build quality, ride, and things to look for. Boat will be used for fishing the Northern GOM. Thanks

The 41' rode bow high. The 48' tended to ride bow down and was a bit wet. Other than that I don't know much about them, never ran one. I was on a later 45' with J+T 6-71's and it was a good running boat. I think it was a 1995 possibly.

I fish regularly with a friend on his 1988 48. It tends to be a bit wet but runs well in generally all seas. Not a speed demon but we run at 23-25 kts burning 55 gph. Huge cockpit and comfortable accommodations. Large bridge.

His is for sale and he takes care of it with an open checkbook. PM me if you want information.
