While I re-discovered this thread, here is my Austin Healey. BJ8 3000 Mk3 Phase 2. With Overdrive.
Bought it in Connecticut last year. The car had been sitting in a collection since 1994, not driven for 20 years and completely restored before going into the collection.
Had her converted to Right Hand Drive and renewed all brakes, hoses, new petrol tank etc. I have never enjoyed driving as much as I do in this car.
Now just need to get the synchromesh done for 3rd gear (I think I have been hammering the gears a bit going up Tamborine Mountain) and have the doors re-set. I'll be trying to do the gearbox and synchro myself with the help of a Healey friend and expert.

Love the old Volvos Lars. Don't see too many of them over here though.

Kafue, that is a beautiful car. Transmissions aren't that bad. Just take many pictures and follow the manual. My first one scared the (*^# out of me. The second was not too bad.

Good advice, I will do that. Luckily the guys that own Austin Healeys are the most friendly, helpful and sharing people. Within weeks of owning the car I had people in the US and Australia offering advice on everything. The chap who has offered to help me take the GB apart and repair, used to race them and has the done the job many times. I am looking forward to it. Meantime the car is still very drivable. I have found these cars tough and durable.

She looks right at home in your pictures!!! You just need to find a 10 year old to keep the spoke chrome wheels clean!!! hehehe (that must be a chore).

There was a neighbor down the street who had a Triumph Stag with a Targa top, which I tried to buy for several years, but alas he passed away, and I moved away from the old hood...and never saw her again. I don't know how many were built...but in all my years since, I've only seen one other! But back in the day we had a pretty cool block. I owned a '74 Firebird formula 400 with functional ram air, my next door neighbor had a Plymouth Superbird. And the neighbor across the street had a Dodge Challenger with a 383 6 pack. Detroit Muscle street cred! Now I have to relish in my Cayenne GTS, she's a beast too. I really don't have the lust for exotic cars anymore...but if a Porsche 918 comes on the market...I might have to consider it.

LOL. The spokes keep me busy, almost as much as the teak on the Hatteras. Thanks for the help in handling the US side of this purchase for me James.
BTW, just had the Hatteras repainted in "Ice Blue". She is looking great!

Used Wattyl Commercial Marine. It's used on all the local boats I checked out and has a good name.

Thanks to another member here I bought a complete truck instead of an Air Filter I asked about. Now I have an air filter that doesn't fit my original wagon but do have a full set of rolling spares and they all perform very well. I gave the red one a run in the sand yesterday after testing the 4 wheel drive in a location I could retreat from in 2 wheel drive and then went for it. I initially bought it for the engine and gearbox but having now driven it I am thinking I will turn it into a beach wagon. The Blue one I have owned for 6 yrs the Red one is a new relation.

Here is my 1977 Monte Carlo I have owned since new. It has 174 ,000 miles on it.
After tens years of driving it I then put it in heated storage for the winter months. The cost new was $ 4245.00 .
Every year the car was sprayed with oil to prevent it from rusting with all the salt they use on our roads up north. I still have the bill of sale from the dealership and all repair bills.
